The Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy middle school girls basketball team has earned the title of Metro Middle School League champions for 2 years in a row. The championship game was held at Morris Jeff Community school gymnasium on January 26, 2017. Led by coaches Jacob April, Whitney Hollier and Jennifer Dowd the team started the season strong and entered the championship game with a winning record of 5-2. The Swamp Owls dominated JC Ellis with a final score of 42-7 earning the team's second championship title.
