HIGH SCHOOL

Our high School focuses on student achievement and success. We offer students a dynamic opportunity to grow and develop as scholars in an energetic, engaging environment. The curriculum is robust and rigorous including advanced placement and honors courses in addition to traditional courses. It is based in strong student-directed learning, independent and collegiate investigations requiring critical thinking, as well as modern technology approaches to learning. Our school embraces a strong emphasis on health and sciences which has made our school a premier public charter school in both Jefferson Parish and the state of Louisiana.

We are pleased to offers students many opportunities in addition to top rated academics. These opportunities include several sports teams, nationally-affiliated and campus based after school clubs, community service opportunities, access to our community partners, professional guest speakers, a substantial music and arts program, as well as a culture of high expectations for all students to be leaders.

High school students take 7 courses per year in a hybrid block schedule. This allows two “extra” periods a week for independent study, LEAP 2025 test prep, ACT/SAT and AP prep, and interventions. We also offer an advisory and club time during school weekly. Advisory topics and clubs are student-centered and age appropriate. There are 27 students per classroom in high school.

Students on a TOPS University pathway will have the opportunity to take all required courses at either traditional or advanced levels, including honors and AP opportunities. Students choosing a Jump-start pathway have the choice of Health Sciences.
