GRADES: 1-4

The Lower School curriculum builds on the strong foundation developed in kindergarten. We integrate health and sciences into the curriculum and promote design thinking and student collaboration. Students in lower school visit the science lab weekly and work on a variety of hands on activities in a well-equipped science lab.

The rigorous academics in the lower school is enhanced by nurturing teachers and support staff. Students also benefit from extra curricular classes learning the fundamentals of music, art, physical education, Spanish, and computer. Lower School classes are small by design with 25 students per class, ensuring a low student-teacher ratio.

Discovery offers a robust counseling program to support the family as well as a child’s social and emotional growth. We offer optional after-school enrichment programs to the lower school students such as 4H, Lego League, Girls on the Run, and more.
