MIDDLE SCHOOL: GRADES 5-8
Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Middle School provides students with a well-rounded experience to prepare them for high school and beyond. At Discovery, we offer a rigorous curriculum as well as many extracurricular opportunities for students to foster their interests outside of the classroom.
The middle school curriculum develops students’ abilities to think critically, collaborate productively with peers and teachers, and make real-world connections - all while meeting the needs of different types of learners. We leverage the technology in our 21st century classrooms to provide students with an interactive experience, which facilitates increased student engagement. Our student-centric approach embraces the concept of school-life balance through a variety of sports, clubs, and electives, such as Art, Speech and Drama, Gardening Club, and Recycling Club, among many others.
At Discovery, we have a very strong school culture that is built through the use of PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support Program), restorative practices, community and family involvement, and our advisory program.
