Discovery Schools CEO Dr. Patty Glaser Receives New Orleans CityBusiness Women of the Year Honor
Chief Executive Officer and Founding Head of School, Dr. Patty Glaser, was recently named one of New Orleans CityBusiness’ Women of the Year. This award recognizes 50 women as top leaders whose successes in business and contributions to the community have made them movers and shakers in the region.
CityBusiness will host an event celebrating the winners at the New Orleans Museum of Art on November 6 and will feature the honorees in a special insert to its November 17 issue.
Dr. Glaser has dedicated her professional career to helping children and adults identify and pursue their talents. Dr. Patty Glaser’s passion is creating schools that match community needs, especially schools that serve all kinds of learners.

Dr. Glaser’s dynamic career includes more than 20 years of school leadership experience and 18 years as a speech-language pathologist. Dr. Glaser, a proud native of New Orleans, earned a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans. Dr. Glaser is the Founding Head of School and CEO of Discovery Schools. Before serving Discovery, Dr. Glaser held leadership roles at Lusher Charter School and Holy Rosary Academy & High School.
Dr. Glaser’s doctoral work is in designing curriculum for charter schools. She was the lead writer for five community charters from start-up to full approval. Since 2018, Dr. Glaser has focused on designing and constructing new schools to provide students with spaces that encourage academic competency, creativity, and collaboration, leading to lifelong learning. As Head of School at Discovery Schools, Dr. Glaser aims to grow a charter school network with an expert faculty, a vibrant community, sustainable facilities, and enthusiastic students.
