On May 20, 2025, 179 seniors received their diplomas from Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy during a graduation ceremony at the Pontchartrain Center. The Class of 2025 achieved numerous honors and awards. Among the graduates, 69 students earned the distinction of honor graduate, achieving grade point averages above 3.5. An impressive 94 percent of the graduates gained admission to a two-year or four-year university nationwide. The Class of 2025 received a total of $6.8 million in scholarships and awards, excluding TOPS.

The senior class accumulated a remarkable 393 college credit hours through Advanced Placement (AP) and dual enrollment courses in partnership with Southeastern Louisiana University. Kenner Discovery offers various workforce readiness programs to help students prepare for their futures. Many students earned industry-based credentials, enhancing their resumes and increasing their earning potential in various job markets. In total, the Class of 2025 earned 336 career-based certifications. This included three seniors who obtained the FAA Small Unmanned Aircraft (Drones) Certification, 19 who became Certified Clinical Medical Assistants, six who earned the Certified Patient Care Technician designation, 87 who achieved Adobe Certified Specialist status, and 26 who earned ServSafe certifications.

Additionally, an impressive 82 percent of seniors earned a Platinum, Gold, or Silver ACT/WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate. Throughout the year, the Class of 2025 completed over 5,659 hours of community service within the local community. Thirty-four percent of the class participated in a sport offered at Kenner Discovery.

Congratulations to the class of 2025 for demonstrating honor, endurance, academic achievement, responsibility, and tolerance during your time at Kenner Discovery. You have set a remarkable example for future classes. Congratulations to each and every one of you—this is just the beginning of a bright and promising future!

Valedictorian and Salutatorian 

Valedictorian, Lina Oukada

Lina

Lina Oukada, the valedictorian of her class, received the Valedictory Award for achieving the highest cumulative grade point average in her program of study. She is the daughter of Said and Hind Oukada and will attend Tulane University on a full scholarship, pursuing a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology with a Pre-Med track.

During her time at Kenner Discovery, Oukada was actively involved in various student clubs and organizations, including the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Student Council, Freshman Academy Mentors, Key Club, HOSA, and the Muslim Student Alliance. Additionally, she earned certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant and dedicated over 220 hours to community service in the local area.

Salutatorian, Jacob Collett

Jacob

Jacob Collett, the salutatorian, received the Salutatory Award for achieving the second-highest cumulative grade point average in his program of study. The son of Jennifer Giordano, Collett will attend Loyola University on a full scholarship to study Accounting. During his time at Kenner Discovery, Collett was involved in the National Honor Society, the National Art Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Freshman Academy Mentors. Additionally, he earned certifications in Adobe Illustrator and MicroEnterprise at Discovery.
