Kenner Discovery Students Place Second at Science Olympiad State Competition

On April 9, 2022, Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy students placed second in the 2022 Science Olympiad State Tournament held at Southeastern Louisiana University. The KDHSA team, coached by Kristin Oliveri, has been practicing since September 2021, after coming off the heels of Hurricane Ida.

Louisiana’s brightest middle and high school students attended the Louisiana State Science Olympiad tournament. Students compete in 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student’s interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events. Students compete in Science Olympiad with the top teams advancing from Regional to State to National levels.

The KDHSA team placed in 9 events and placed second overall. We are so proud of our scholars and the hard work they put into this competition.
