Greetings! During the 2018-2019 school year, all 6th grade students will have the option to enroll in the band or orchestra.
This summer we are offering a free music camp July 16-20th on the Maine campus from 9am to 2pm. Students can get a feel for the band and orchestra program, as well as, what is expected of them. Students are strongly encouraged to attend the camp. Please use the following link:

Please join us for the first annual KDHSA High School Fine Arts Festival Tuesday, May 29 @ 6pm. Students in Fine Arts Survey, Graphic Art, Studio Art and Theatre I and II will be displaying recent work and performing short scenes, poems, and songs.

Come visit Maine Campus from now until 2pm for our Annual Health Fair! Our SCOPE students, faculty, staff and community partners have an amazing day planned! The Blood Mobile will also be on site for walk-in blood donations for health individuals 17 and older.
All students who attend the health fair will receive a FREE DRESS DOWN DAY on Monday, May 21st (except students participating in the PreK/K moving up ceremony on Monday).

Fun Friday Snack tomorrow, May 18th
KDHSA Lower School will offer a Fun Friday Snack on Friday, May 17, 2018. All students who are in good standing may bring one to two dollars
($1 - $2) to purchase a snack during their recess time. Proceeds will go to the PBIS program.
Students may wear a KDHSA school spirit shirt with uniform bottoms and black shoes.
Healthy snack options include bottled water, pickles, popcorn, chips, pretzels, pringles, and other treats.

Summer Bridges Registration Deadline

Dear KDHSA Parent or Guardian,
With the end of the school year quickly upon us, we know that you are making plans for your child's summer vacation activities. Summer months welcome the opportunity for fun, but also can be a great time to boost critical reading and math skills, bridge gaps in learning, and reduce the possibility of summer learning loss. In an effort to maximize learning opportunities, KDHSA is offering the Discovery Bridges Summer Program.
Discovery Bridges is engineered for current, returning students in Kindergarten through 4th grade who are performing below grade level in Math or Reading or need additional assistance staying on track. The program offers small group instruction in Reading and Mathematics and prepares students for maximum success when the next school year begins. Availability of specific grades and classes is dependent on enrollment numbers.
Bridges Dates: June 4 - June 29, 2018
Time: 8:30am - 12pm daily
Transportation: Limited bus service will be offered to transport students daily to and from Summer Bridges. For students not riding the bus, carpool will run through the the Horseshoe Parking Lot beginning at 8:20 for arrival. For dismissal, carpool will again run through the Horseshoe Parking Lot beginning at 12:00.
Cost:
Students who qualify for free lunch: $50.00, non-refundable deposit
Students who qualify for reduced lunch: $100 and a $50.00, non-refundable deposit
Students who do not qualify for either: $200.00 and a $50.00, non-refundable deposit
Meals: Free breakfast from 8:20am - 8:30am and free lunch from 11:30pm - 12:00pm will be provided daily to all Discovery Bridges participants.
Registration Deadlines: Deadline to submit registration is Friday, May 18th. The $50 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration to secure your student’s spot. The first installment of your tuition payment is due May 31st and the final payment is due June 15th. Please make payment arrangements with the KDHSA Business Office by phone or in person.

This message serves as a reminder we have early dismissal at the the Rivertown, Maine, and Vintage Campuses Wednesday, May 16, 2018). Students will be dismissed as follows:
2:00pm - PreK/K Rivertown Campus and Vintage Campus
2:10pm - All Maine Campus students from usual pick up points
Community Works after school enrichment will be provided for students who have signed up. Please make the necessary arrangements for student pick-up. Bus service will be provided.

Supplies Needed for STEAM Fest!
Parents, if you have a tent that we can use for STEAM Fest on the Maine Campus, please drop it off today, or tomorrow so that we can have it set up for Friday, May 11th! You can leave it in the teacher workroom near the front office. Please check with Mrs. Rachelle or Mrs. Debbie in the front office first.
