Fall Fest Attire: At KDHSA, we want to promote literacy and our HEART tenets as much as possible, therefore we are encouraging students to dress up as their favorite book character or their favorite superhero.
Students may also wear a fall outfit, costume, or spirit shirt on that day. Costumes worn must be school appropriate - no masks, tattoos, tank tops, spaghetti straps, morphsuits, sleeveless shirts, scary blood, or gory costumes are allowed. Girls wearing a skirt above the knee must also wear tights, leggings, or shorts underneath. No shirts/skirts/shorts/pants with holes are allowed. Students’ stomachs should be covered. No face paint, body paint, or colored hair spray is allowed. Leggings may not be worn as pants.

Students may pay $5 to participate in all days listed. Payment must be submitted by Monday, 10/23. Students also have the option to pay $1 per day to participate in any of the days listed from October 23rd - October 30th. Students do not have to pay $1 to dress down on October 31st.
Participation in Red Ribbon Week is optional. Students are not required to participate.

On Friday, October 20, 2017, PreK - 8th students are allowed to wear any college or university shirt along with their regular uniform bottom. The shirt can be worn over the uniform jumper. (NO tank tops, spaghetti straps, or sleeveless shirts are allowed.) PreK/K girls only are allowed to wear PE shorts with the shirt.

As a reminder, we will have early dismissal at the the Rivertown, Maine, and Vintage Campuses Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Students will be dismissed as follows:
2:00pm - PreK/K Rivertown Campus and Vintage Campus
2:10pm - All Maine Campus students from usual pick up points
Community Works after school enrichment will be provided for students who have signed up. Please make the necessary arrangements for student pick-up. Bus service will be provided.

Our Middle School TEAM is looking for guest presenters. On select Wednesdays this year, we will hold assemblies for our 6th - 8th grade middle school students. The assemblies consist of two 35 minute sessions from 2:00pm - 3:15pm. We also plan to hold multiple coffee chats during the evening as well as a career day on November 10th from 2:00pm - 3:15pm.
