The funds collected will be used to support our school's positive behavior intervention and supports (PBIS) program. If a student donates $1, he/she will be allowed to wear a Black, Gold, or White Saints jersey or Saints shirt along with their uniform bottom. For Pre-K/K girls, the jersey or shirt can be worn over the uniform dress. All students must wear their normal uniform bottoms. (NO tank tops, spaghetti straps, or sleeveless shirts are allowed.) KDHSA Uniforms for Cold Weather Days Cooler weather is here. In accordance with our uniform policy, students must be in complete uniform daily. Students may wear the following items listed below: Girls: White, navy, or black tights may be worn under the smock dress, jumper, or skirt. Only the official Kenner Discovery navy sweat pants may be worn under the smock dress, jumper, or skirt. No others are allowed. On PE days only, girls in PreK - 4th grade may wear the PE uniform of the official KDHSA navy sweat pants and the official KDHSA gray t-shirt. Girls in 5th - 9th grades must bring PE clothes and change or wear the official KDHSA sweat pants under their skirt. Students may wear only the official white long sleeve turtleneck with the KD monogram under the uniform blouse. Only the official KDHSA royal blue sweatshirt, cardigan, or pullover sweater may be worn over the uniform shirt or PE shirt (for PE days). No other sweatshirts or sweaters are allowed. Coats or jackets may be worn only outside over the uniform when the weather is very cold. Boys: On PE days only, boys in PreK - 4th grade may wear the PE uniform of the official KDHSA navy sweatpants and the official KDHSA gray t-shirt. Boys in Grades 5th - 9th must change clothes for PE. Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy seeks a middle school (5th-8th) Reading Interventionist with a Master’s degree in Special Education, Secondary/Elementary Education, and/or Curriculum & Instruction; Reading Specialist and/or ESL certification desirable; 3-5 years+ experience with small group academic support for elementary students with proven record of increasing literacy skills. A strong candidate will have an expertise in how to administer and analyze results from a wide-range of diagnostic assessments. Experience with instructional coaching and pushing into classrooms is an asset. Knowledge of the Response to Intervention process is essential. The Interventionist will work in collaboration with a wide array of teachers and school leaders. Familiarity with the Louisiana Student Standards and LEAP Assessment is required. Knowledge of Achieve 3000, iREADY, Lexia, and Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System is an asset. Interest in leading extracurricular student activities is a plus. KDHSA Vintage Campus PBIS Fun Friday Snack--Pizza!! Tomorrow, November 17th. Students can buy pizza for $2/slice. Lemonade and/or water will be sold for $0.50. Middle School interactions: What’s appropriate? KDHSA 6th - 8th Grade Families: Over the next few weeks 6th - 8th grade students will participate in a campaign titled, “Middle School interactions: What’s appropriate?” The purpose of this campaign is to ensure middle school students have a better sense of healthy boundaries and their rights as students. During the 8th period block, a series of Advisory lessons will be assigned to supplement information students receive at our 6th - 8th grade assemblies.
